As a member of the Perkins/Plourde American Legion Auxiliary Unit 136, Stockholm, Anita Gardiner, center, recently was awarded a certificate of appreciation for her continuing involvement within the organization, providing her talents and volunteer time to the Auxiliary’s many projects. Gardiner is well-known for her hand-knit mittens which she has made for every kindergarten student over the past 10 years, a project which supports behind the Unit 136 motto, “Service not self.” Gardiner received the award during a recent regular Auxiliary meeting from Kathy Robinson, left, Auxiliary president; and Rae Rossignol, Unit 136 secretary.
