Rathbun Lumber to collect

tubs of toys and food

PRESQUE ISLE — Employees of Rathbun Lumber Co. are pitching in to help make sure everyone has a nice holiday this year, and they are once again inviting their friends and customers to join them in making donations of toys and food to benefit local families. They are hoping to receive enough donations to fill two tubs in their display area.

Rathbun Lumber employees have decorated one of their hot tubs from Sundance Spas, which they hope will be filled with toys by Dec. 13, in time for local distribution by the Presque Isle Kiwanis Club. A second whirlpool tub is decorated and designated for non-perishable food contributions that will be donated to Martha and Mary’s Kitchen, their neighbors at 21 Parsons St. Donations of food will be accepted until Dec. 20.

The public is invited to bring their donations any day during store hours, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Although toys must be received by Dec. 13, food items can be dropped off anytime until Dec. 20.
