As a member of the Maine InfoNet Download Library, the Cary Library has announced that eBooks are now available for download along with the growing collection of downloadable audiobooks. More than 1,400 e Books spanning best-selling fiction, non-fiction, young adult and children’s content are now available for Cary Library patrons to download. This is in addition to the ever-growing collection of downloadable audiobooks also available.
Also known as “digital books”, eBooks are books that can be read on a computer screen or with portable e-reader devices, such as the Sony Reader, the Kobo and the Nook. These eBooks are compatible with most computers, laptops and netbooks, and should soon work with the popular Apple iPad as well as Droid based smartphones. Detailed information on which devices work with eBooks is posted on the download library website.
