New governor

should be good for Aroostook

To the editor:

I was fortunate to get the chance to move back to Maine after a decade away. Getting the chance to help elect Paul LePage was an exciting time. Growing up waiting for Thanksgiving week and our annual family trip to Presque Isle was always a source of great memories.

I truly believe the LePage administration will be a good one for Aroostook County. The votes cast by people there were the deciding factor in LePage closing the door on Cutler when the tallies were being made, and I feel the new Governor will do what’s possible to revitalize the region with a Republican legislature in his arsenal.

The recent school class shifts statewide are a direct result of people moving out and seeking better opportunities elsewhere. Making year-long use of the former Loring Air Force Base site, small business loans to people bringing new ventures to the area, and continued support of the area’s natural resources and wildlife are just a few of the positive steps Gov. LePage can take to ensure our nation’s largest county remains one of it’s most productive.
