PT Mark WilmotAmerican Flag Color    OAKFIELD, MAINE & ZWOLLE, LOUISIANA – Mark Wilmot, age 50, lost his battle with cancer on January 8, 2011. He was born December 5, 1960 to Clair and Joyce Wilmot of Oakfield.  He married Lynn “Tuttle” Wilmot in 1979 in Marthaville, Louisiana.
    Mark was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Mark served in the U.S. Navy for over twenty years. His duty stations included USS NARWHAL, USS SIMON BOLIVAR, USS TREPANG, and USS LOUISIANA. After retiring from the Navy, Mark went to work for Transocean Deepwater Drilling on the drillship Discoverer Spirit.
    Mark was preceded in death by his father Clair Wilmot of Oakfield, Maine; step-father Kenn Skillin of Houlton, Maine; father-in-law Huey Tuttle of Zwolle, Louisiana; and mother-in-law Doris (Henderson) Tuttle.
    Mark is survived by his bride of 31 years, Lynn (Tuttle) Wilmot; son Jeremy Wilmot and wife Kristin of Plano, Texas; daughter Sarah (Wilmot) Bull and grand-daughter Jolea Bull of Zwolle, Louisiana; mother Joyce Skillin of Houlton, Maine; sister Carol Swallow and husband Kenny of Oakfield, Maine; brothers Richard Wilmot and wife Susan of Houlton, Maine, Brian Wilmot and wife Connie of Tucson, Arizona, and Steven Wilmot of Oakfield, Maine; sister-in-law Lori Vines and husband Eddie of Zwolle, Louisiana; aunt-in-laws Bertha Champion and Joyce Farris of Zwolle, Louisiana; numerous nieces, nephews, and many of our children’s friends through the years.
    Memorial services will be at the United Methodist Church in Zwolle, Louisiana on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers he requested a college fund be set up for his granddaughter, Jolea Bull. An account will be set up at Sabine State Bank in Zwolle, Louisiana.
