MAPLETON BROWNIE GIRL SCOUT TROOP 1133 recently attended a cookie rally in Easton hosted by the Sapphire Neighborhood. The event was designed to kick off the annual cookie sale fundraiser. Girls attending rotated through various stations covering door-to-door selling safety, cookie trivia, cookie Twister, a three-legged race, advertising, and cookie Bingo. The girls enjoyed a light lunch and listened to storyteller, “Learnin Vernon,” a lifetime member of Girl Scouting (and parent of a former Girl Scout) from downstate. The event concluded with the Girl Scout friendship circle and the Girl Scout version of the song, “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.” Troop members attending were, from left, front row: Delaney Alward, Bethany Baker, Katelyn Amero and Jenna Mountain. Back row: Alexus LaFerriere, Madelyn Buzza, Alexis Getchell and Amanda Winslow. Not pictured were troop members Rebecca Rider and Sydney Robichaud. Cookies are now being ordered from any of these Troop members for $3.50 per box and donation orders are being accepted for a local charitable organization.
The annual cookie sale for all Girl Scouts of Maine has officially begun! Phase 1 of the three-phase cookie sale will run from now through Jan. 30. Customers placing orders during that time can expect their cookies to arrive in Presque Isle March 5 for delivery by local Girl Scouts sometime thereafter. Some local troops may participate in booth sales at various local business locations from March 12-April 3, allowing customers to purchase cookies on site, without ordering. This year, a new cookie is being introduced, called “Shout Outs.” It replaces the Daisy-Go-Rounds and is described as a light and crisp, Belgian-style caramelized cookie. Please support your local Girl Scouts!
