HOULTON — Houlton High School’s Jobs for Maine’s Graduates program is participating in an exciting philanthropic initiative called J.O.Y., sponsored by the Unity Foundation. JMG students are being trained in the grant-making process and are researching local nonprofits that serve youth in their community.
By March 3, Houlton High School’s JMG program will award a $1,000 grant to a 501c3 nonprofit organization, especially designed to benefit kids living in the Houlton area. All applications must be received no later than Feb. 1.
This year all applications will be submitted via the Internet, which should streamline the process for all involved. Application instructions are attached. Any organization that does not have internet access, should contact Dee Butler, Houlton High School JMG specialist, at 532-7736 or dbutler@jmg.org.
