CAYUCOS, CA – Gerald “Joe” Cronkite, 86, died Dec. 29, 2010, in Cayucos. He was born in Fort Fairfield, May 29, 1924, son of Samuel & Effie Cronkite. He graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1942.

He is survived by his wife, Corine (Pierce) Cronkite; his brothers: Larry of Presque Isle, and Carvell of Rhode Island; sisters: Lois Fowler of Daytona, FL, and Phyllis Leavitt of Presque Isle; and three step-children.

Interment was held in California.
