While the cake was being served, a 30-minute slideshow, also created by their daughter, of the couple’s life was viewed by all. Lastly, the couple danced a waltz together, and were then joined by their children and other family members. The celebration was honored to have music performed by Joe White, Chet and Kathy Rafford, and Leroy Goodwin.

Portage Lakers Snowmobile Club’s annual pie auction scheduled
The Portage Lakers Snowmobile Club will be hosting its annual pie auction Saturday, Feb. 19 starting at 7 p.m. at Dean’s Motor Lodge in Portage Lake. To add a twist to the event, they have planned a dance following the auction beginning at 9 p.m. The band “Common Crossing” will be providing the rocking entertainment for the night sure to get everyone on the dance floor for a good time. What a great way to have some fun close to home. Dean’s is the place to be! A full menu is available earlier in the evening so why not come out to Portage Lake, get a room for the night, go for dinner and stay for the auction and dance? This event is always a fun-filled gathering. There are lots of pies, sweets and goodies to be auctioned off.
A $5 “trail fund” donation would be appreciated for entry into the dance. That is an inexpensive way to help support our local snowmobile clubs for their dedication in maintaining our snowmobile trail systems that we all enjoy and utilize.
