CARIBOU – Terrance Arthur Greenier, 54, departed from us peacefully and was taken in to God’s loving care on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Cary Medical Center in Caribou after devastating life events brought him through a long emotional and physical battle which eventually overcame him.
He was born on March 14, 1956 in Caribou, Maine, to Melvin O. and Patricia R. (Legassie) Greenier.
Terrance grew up on his parents farm on Route 1 at the present disc golf course location in Caribou and attended Caribou High School as a teenager. Amongst his proudest accomplishments in high school was a second place finish in a state championship wrestling competition.
Terrance will always be remembered as a caring family man who was willing to help out anyone at any cost.
Shortly after graduating, Terrance wed and began to build a loving home and proceeded to share the things that he most enjoyed in life with his wife and son.
He was driven by motorsports, camping, fishing, kayaking, and just about anything that exposed him to nature and the outdoors. Terry’s proudest accomplishment in his life was his son, Eric, who will deeply miss his father and love him forever.
Terrance began working at J.M. Huber Corporation in Easton, Maine, in the Mobile Maintenance department in 1993 and eventually transitioned to a Boiler Engineer position. Terrance was a dedicated hardworking employee for J.M. Huber for 16 years.
He is survived by his son, Eric P. Maynard (Scarborough ME); brothers, Melvin W. and wife, Diane Greenier (Westbrook, ME), Brian R. and wife, Reta J. Greenier (New Sweden), Robert K. Greenier of (Caribou); and sisters, Sharon A. Graham (Paso Robles, Calif.), Tina M. R. and husband, Mark Howell (Acworth, Ga.), and several nieces and nephews. Additionally, he is survived by close family friend Dustin R. Saucier (Caribou).
He was predeceased by his mother and father during the summer of 1995.
Terry’s calling hours were held at the Lancaster Funeral Home in Caribou, on Saturday, February 5 from 10-11 a.m. with a memorial service from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry’s name may be made to Nordic Lakers Snowmobile Club, 20 Station Street, Stockholm, ME 04783.
