Austin Cote, the 16-year-old grandson of Harold and Janice Cote of Caribou, recently scored two goals, including the game-winner, lifting North Pole to a 5-4 victory over the Houston Hawks in the Patriot’s regular-reason finale during a Mid-Alaska Conference high school hockey game.
Cote, wearing number 17, produced the game-winning goal at 10:27. The Patriots seized a 3-0 lead in the first period before the Hawks knotted the score in the second. Cote scored his (and the game’s) first goal at 3:24 into the opening period.
Cote is the son of Ryan and Deena Cote of Fairbanks and Anchorage, Alaska.
