As family practice centers, KVHC provides care from birth to geriatrics. Debra Wilkins, KVHC’s Clinical Coordinator, said, “This gift will allow providers at Katahdin Valley Health Center to do on site testing and diagnosing of patients, eliminating the need for additional medical appointments and travel.” Durward Humphrey, KVHC’s CEO was pleased with the announcement and commented “Even though KVHC has received numerous grants throughout the past year, this grant is significant in that the equipment that will be purchased could not have been purchased through any other grant that we have received. In comparison to patient outcomes and access, this is a huge gift and is just another example of how important our local Health Services Foundation is to our patients and communities.”
According to Linda Goodall KVHC’s Board Chair “Over the past 23 years KVHC has received over $62,000 from Health Services Foundation which has been instrumental in our growth and success and it is the generosity of organization such as this that need our continued professional and personal support.”
“Given the rural nature of the communities our non-profit healthcare providers serve, the Foundation assists funding projects, within our financial assistance guidelines, as much as possible.  It is extremely important that the best medical options are available to keep our communities healthy”, said Elizabeth Dulin, Foundation Executive Director.
