GEDDES, Ray L., 81, BETHEL, VT, February 18, 2011. A graveside memorial service at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Day Funeral Home, Randolph, VT.
BETHEL, VT – Ray L. Geddes, 81, died Friday, February 18, 2011, in Bethel, VT, after a year and a half long struggle with brain cancer.
A son of Byron and Murrile Geddes of Readstown, WI, Ray joined the United States Air Force, and served for 20 years in the Air Force as an electrician. He served a year term in Vietnam and earned several medals. When he retired from the Air Force, he moved to Fort Fairfield, and worked for 20 years in the Presque Isle High School as the vocational education electrician teacher.
Ray was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hike, camp and garden. He was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and had a deep love for God and the Bible.
Ray is survived by his wife, Arlene of 58 years, who now lives in Vermont where they relocated last year, when Ray became ill. Ray has three children: a daughter, Debra and her companion, Tom of Mass., a daughter, Laurie Barcelow and husband, Jeff of Vermont; a son, Anthony Geddes and wife, Trish of Idaho; four grandchildren: Travis, Nicholas, Jacob and Katie.
