Students to exhibit work in First Friday Art Walk

  PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Wintergreen Arts Center and the Presque Isle Recreation and Parks are pleased to announce that the students from the Arts & Parks after-school program, grades 1-6, will be displaying their work during the First Friday Arts Walk in March.

The students have been working hard to create the different styles of paintings that will be on display. The opening party will be on Friday, March 4, from 6-9 p.m. An art auction and musical performance by “Martha Meets Mambo” will also begin at 6 p.m.

Light refreshment will be served. The students’ work will be on display in the Barresi Financial Gallery at Wintergreen the entire month of March. The Wintergreen Arts Center is located at 149 State Street in Presque Isle.

The First Friday Arts Walk is celebrating its 11th consecutive month in downtown Presque Isle and continues to enjoy increasing popularity. Participating organizations include: the Turner Memorial Library Gallery, Wintergreen Arts Center, Merchants on the Corner, Sorpreso Cafe, Oasis Salon and Day Spa, Morning Star Arts and Framing, the Downtown Revitalization Committee, Freddy P’s, the Presque Isle Chamber of Commerce and the University of Maine in Presque Isle. The students and staff would like to offer a special thanks to Morning Star Arts and Framing for matting the students’ work.
