Cary Library receives stock donation

HOULTON, Maine — The Cary Library has received a generous donation of 401.866 shares of American Funds Capital Inc. Bldr A stock.
According to Linda Faucher, Cary Library director, the donor of the stocks wishes to remain anonymous.
“This gift has been sent to H.M. Payson & Co., Inc, the investment firm that handles the library endowment trust funds,” she said. “The Cary Library’s Endowment Fund provides a lasting legacy through planned giving. A gift to the Endowment Fund remains intact and exists in perpetuity; only the income generated from the Fund is used.”
By so doing, it ensures that an endowment gift will enhance and enrich the library experience for the community for generations to come.
“The donor was educated in Houlton schools, began using the library as a child, and continued to enjoy the library’s many services as an adult,” Faucher said. “The income generated from this donation will be expended toward the library’s children’s collection and programs per the wishes of the donor.”
