Save your money; register your vehicle
The tip of the week from the Houlton Police Department involves your vehicle. Before you get into your automobile to go anywhere, take two minutes of your time to check and see if your vehicle is up to date on its registration and inspection.
The fines for unregistered vehicle, according to Title 29A-351 & 51-1, are $70 for failure to register vehicle 30 to 150 days past its expiration. After 150 days, it becomes a class E crime. Failure to display a current or valid inspection is subject to a $133 fine.
