Public invited to reflect on tsunami tragedy
PRESQUE ISLE — The University of Maine at Presque Isle invites the public to join them as they take time on Wednesday, March 16, to reflect on the recent tsunami tragedy and events that have ensued due to the earthquake that shook Japan on Friday, March 11.
Students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to participate in this day of reflection in the university’s Campus Center Owl’s Nest from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Participants are encouraged to engage and heal by drawing, writing poetry, lighting a candle, sitting in silence or watching a slideshow of the latest events surrounding the tragedy.
