The Houlton 5-6 grade Aroostook Youth Basketball League team captured the title at the Bangor YMCA Tournament last weekend.
The team went 5-0 through the tournament and Houlton’s Cameron Graham was named the tournament Most Valuable Player.
In Houlton’s first game on Saturday, they defeated MDI YMCA, 52-32. In their next game, they routed Hampden 2, 46-13 and to finish the day, they overpowered the Downeast YMCA team, 52-13.
In the semifinal game on Sunday, Houlton overtook MDI YMCA, 44-35 before taking the championship away from Coastal Thunder, 55-47.
The team’s overall season record is now 28-3.
This weekend the team will compete in the Old Town YMCA Tournament and finish their season on April 2-3 with a tournament in Houlton.
Playing for the Aroostok Youth Basketball League 5-6 grade Houlton boys team are Colby Callnan, Lucas Porter, Nick Perfitt, Cameron Graham, Zach Hagan, Nate Mooers, Joe Dobbins, Jacob Worthley and Cameron Cleary.
