LIMESTONE — Limestone Community School Principal Leland Caron has announced that Justin S. Thompson, a senior at the school, has been chosen to receive the 2011 Maine Principals’ Association Principal’s Award.
Thompson and Caron will travel to Bangor on Saturday, April 2 to attend an Honors Luncheon at the Spectacular Event Center, during which award winners will be recognized for their scholarly accomplishments and citizenship with the presentation of an individual play and the awarding of five $1,000 scholarships in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler — both former Maine principals and executive directors of the MPA.
“Throughout his years at Limestone Community School, Justin has distinguished himself in the classroom, on the playing field and as a leader in the school and the community,” Caron said. “Justin has consistently modeled outstanding school and community citizenship while successfully maintaining a challenging academic course load at the Limestone Community School. He has positively impacted the school and deserves this recognition very much.”
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 130 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
