How can you make a difference?

Rachel Joy Scott had many great ideas to make her school a better place. Some of her ideas are: the New Student Program, Chain Reaction, Food Drive and Mix It Up Day. I think that I and my classmates could do all of these ideas, but I would have to do Chain Reaction and Mix It Up Day.

An example of Chain Reaction, say Chelsey and Kassee are talking, then out of the corner of her eye Chelsey sees Shania holding a ton of books, and she is barely making it down the hall. I see Chelsey doing a good deed of helping Shania, by carrying her books, I write Chelsey’s name down on a piece of paper. Other people will start to do this, then it will be a chain of good deeds or a Chain Reaction. I say we do this challenge, because it will be fun and full of good deeds.

Maybe we could do Mix It Up Day, too. This is when different groups sit at different tables, so we will meet or be friends with other people. This event makes people not sit with the same people every day. We have to sit with a different group on this day. During this event no one should sit by themselves. Mix It Up Day would be fun here, because everyone knows each other, but they do not know what they are like.

With all the good deeds that everyone will do, they will hopefully stop doing bad misbehavior. An example would be pushing and shoving people, hitting others, yelling out rude stuff or things that are not true. With Mix It Up Day, people have a chance to make new friends and get together with old friends.

All the good ideas that Rachel had I chose Mix It Up Day and Chain Reaction. They are both great ideas and should work out great in the school. I think that this will be a huge change and a chance to have a new beginning.
