The Houlton Junior High School cast of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” have been busily preparing for their performances on Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April 8 at 7 p.m. in the Houlton High School Auditorium.
There will also be a daytime performance (9 a.m.) for some of the Houlton Elementary and Southside school students on Wednesday, April 6.
Tickets will be on-sale after school until 4 p.m. in the high school lobby and also one hour before show time. The SAD 29 Music Boosters will also be hosting a special “golden ticket” raffle during both shows and a wonderful chocolate buffet during intermission. Tickets for the performance are $3 students/senior citizens and $5 adults.
“Many are familiar with Roald Dahl’s classic tale about a forlorn little Charlie Bucket, his unwavering ability to think positive, his trip through the magical world of Willy Wonka, and the surprise dream-come-true at the finale,” said Joe Fagnant, music director at HHS. “Please join Charlie, Augustus, Veruca, Violet, Mike, and Mr. Wonka himself as they transport your to worlds of pure imagination.”
The junior high school cast members include: Amira Abouleish, Madelene Anderson, Laura Beals, Nathan Bouchard, Connor Bulley, Adam Casillas, Victoria Codrey, Emily Dickison, Lexi Emerson, Keegan Fitzpatrick, Lexi Garcia, Samantha Grahn, Connor Grant, Nia Hamilton, Tommy Hannigan, Tyler Hannigan, Lexi Hernandez, Lauren Hogan, Noah Holmes, Jill Howland, Caila Keber, Hunter McLaughlin, Kelly McLaughlin, Makala Miller, Jill Moran, Morgan Nelson, Mariah O’Neal, Haven Rhoda, Natalie Rush, Aaron Sewell, and Caleigh Sullivan.
The cast, which also doubles as the junior high show choir, came back from their recent state Show Choir Festival with a gold rating and Madalene Anderson received an outstanding musicianship award.
