CARIBOU, Maine — Susan White and the teaching staff at the Caribou Middle School have recently announced the Students of the Month for March.
Madison Doucette, a grade-six CMS student was chosen as Student of the Month for March by her teachers Mrs. Ruth Dionne and Mr. John Pelletier.
The team teachers stated “Maddie is a well-rounded student who is involved in a variety of activities, especially sports. She is a member of the AYBL basketball team, recreation soccer and softball teams and was chosen to play on the seventh grade CMS basketball team as a sixth-grader. A member of the Caribou Middle School band and an honor roll student who takes her schoolwork serious, Maddie always strives to do her best in whatever she undertakes.
“She is an extremely kind and compassionate young lady with a great sense of humor who is well-liked by her teachers and classmates,” added her teachers.
Heather LaMothe, a member of the sixth grade class at CMS, was named Student of the Month for March by her teachers Mrs. Cathy Bouchard and Ms. Sarah LaJoie.
“Heather has a bubbly, contagious personality,” stated her teachers, “She is truly a joy to have in class and her smile sets everyone off to a good day.”
“Active in chorus, as well as a cheerleader at the rec. for grades 5 and 6 basketball teams, Heather is a good student who works hard, seeks help when she needs it and is helpful toward her peers,” added the CMS teachers.
Jillian Flynn, a seventh-grade CMS student was chosen as March Student of the Month by her teachers Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mr. Arik Jepson, Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt, Ms. Shelly Richardson and Mr. Steve Perreault.
The grade seven teachers stated, “Jillian is an exceptional student; she is driven and highly motivated to learn and is involved in many school-related activities. A member of the Energy Team, Rachel’s Challenge Training Team and a member of the girls’ soccer team, Jillian also enjoys playing hockey and dancing with The Maine Dane Academy.”
“She has a dynamic personality and gets along easily with her peers and teachers,” added the CMS teachers. “Jillian is a strong leader in grade 7.”
Jacob Whitten was selected to be the March Student of the Month by his grade seven teachers Mrs. Curtis, Mrs. Barnes, Mr. Jepson, Mrs. Rhinebolt, Ms. Richardson and Mr. Perreault.
“Jacob is a hard working student who is very conscientious about his homework,” stated the teachers. “He is kind to his peers, a reliable student and a pleasure to have in class. Jacob has a great sense of humor, is confident and a leader by example,” they added.
Erin Patton, a member of the eighth grade at CMS was chosen as Student of the Month for March by her teachers Mr. Travis Barnes, Mrs. Jessica Dow, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper, Mr. Troy Barnes and Mr. Ralph Fantasia.
“Erin is an exceptional young lady who is a pleasure to have in class,” stated the team teachers. “She dedicates herself to her education and the extra-curricular activities that she is involved with, including soccer, basketball, cross-country skiing, tennis, softball. She also plays the piano and is a member of the strings program where she plays the violin. Erin is an effective leader and is well-liked by her peers,” they added.
Nathan Wall was selected as Student of the Month for March by his eighth grade teachers Mr. Barnes, Mrs. Dow, Mrs. Sleeper, Mr. Barnes and Mr. Fantasia.
The CMS teachers stated, “Nate is a very conscientious, hard working student. As a member of the Developmental Asset Team, he strives every day to include others, make sure that all voices are heard and ‘Gets to know the stories,’ of other students at CMS.”
“To compliment his well-roundedness, he is involved in athletics as well, participating the cross-cross running and basketball. All of these traits makes Nate an outstanding model student and a worthy pick for student of the month,” the CMS teachers added.
