Easton’s Bacon takes over as NHS state president

By Jonah Bacon

2012 State NHS President

I am grateful to be succeeding Sydney Trask as the NHS State President. She did an amazing job as NHS President and raised the bar high for me as well as future presidents.

EASTON’S STATE PRESIDENTS —

Jonah Bacon is the new state president and Sydney Trask handled the same duties this past year with the National Honor Society. Both are students at Easton Junior-Senior High School.

I have the privilege of planning and running the 2012 NHS State Convention. I will be meeting several times with my fellow NHS Executive Board members, who I look forward to working with. Together we will map out a theme for next year’s activities, gather speakers and presenters, and design the activities in which all the NHS members will participate.

Our convention will be beneficial to the Maine community. The speakers will reflect our theme and will hopefully provide wise lessons and positive motivation. The activities will be entertaining and interesting, and hopefully will get all NHS members involved.

I am very confident my group and I will be able to design a smooth-running, helpful and effective NHS state convention.
