PRESQUE ISLE — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a local man reported missing earlier this week.

The Presque Isle Police Department was contacted April 18 by a woman reporting 20-year-old Presque Isle man was missing. According to the police log, Sean P. Muriel was last seen on Saturday, April 16. The caller, identified as Muriel’s mother, told police her son had recently broken up with his girlfriend and had made comments about harming himself. The woman indicated his last known residence was in the area known as ‘base housing’ off Edgemont Drive.

Officer Lynn Hartley was assigned to the case and has been in contact with several individuals considered acquaintances of Muriel’s — none of whom had information on the man’s whereabouts.

Muriel is described as being 6-feet 4-inches tall, weighing 340 pounds, with blond hair and hazel eyes. Distinguishing features include pierced ears and a pierced lip. Information has been entered into the missing persons database and distributed to law enforcement officials throughout the state.

Anyone with information on Muriel’s whereabouts is asked to contact Hartley at 764-4476.
