ACAP honored

PRESQUE ISLE — Aroostook County Action Program, Inc. (ACAP) is delighted to announce that a review by HealthMETRICS of Lexington, Mass., pronounced ACAP’s Family Planning Program as outstanding in terms of clinic quality indicators and patient satisfaction scores.

HealthMETRICS was retained by the Family Planning Association of Maine as part of its Maine Value Based contracting project to document the quality of care provided at the Presque Isle Health Center.

As noted by Charles Moore, president and CEO of HealthMETRICS Partners, Inc., “the clinical quality indicators and patient satisfaction scores were outstanding and some of the best results HealthMETRICS has recorded in our work with over 180 family providers across 29 states.”

ACAP’s quality of care was reviewed from three dimensions: Clinical data from chart reviews; patient satisfaction gathered from surveys distributed to patients at the end of a visit; and the effectiveness of ACAP’s family-planning education.

One hundred percent of clients responding noted ACAP had provided excellent information.

Although the review took place in Presque Isle, this quality of care is standard in all three ACAP Family Planning health centers located in Presque Isle, Fort Kent and Houlton.

As stated by Donna Kenneson, senior manager of ACAP Health Services, “ACAP Family Planning staff are extremely dedicated, professional and knowledgeable and I am very pleased and proud that they are being recognized for providing outstanding quality of care to our clients in Aroostook.”

ACAP provides the people of Aroostook with services and programs in the areas of health, nutrition, child and family, energy and housing, and employment and training, and as a leader or in partnership with others, provides guidance to the community in responding to emerging human needs.
