Ms. Washburn Pageant to raise funds for DI team

A Ms. Washburn Throwback 2011 Pageant will be held on Saturday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. at the high school.

Contestants already on board include Mike Hartford, Jensen Reed, Ben Goodwin, Ben Swank, Craig Sjoberg and Jason Reed.  Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. In addition to the winner being crowned, there will also be a People’s Choice Award. Make sure to be there for a great fundraiser for the Destination Imagination team.

Winklmann and other National Guard members from Maine returned about a month ago from Afghanistan.


Destination Imagination

There will be several fundraisers held to raise the funds needed for the two teams to go to the Global competitions in Tennessee.

A yard sale is also being planned for April 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will take place at the corner of Main and School streets at the Churchills’ home.

Dinner and BINGO will be offered on May 3 at the Washburn Trail Runners Clubhouse. Dinner is served from 5-6:30 p.m., with BINGO starting at 6:30 p.m.

Other fundraisers being planned include a bottle drive, baked goods sales, a talent review and sale of pizza kits. Check out pizzakits.com or contact Tracy Reed to order baked goods.

The group will be delivering pizzas from the Washburn Food Mart to homes in Washburn, Wade, Perham and Crouseville on Friday, April 29, from 4 to 9 p.m. To order a pizza, call the Food Mart at 455-8057 and be sure to ask for delivery by the DI team!

Baked potato supper

There will be a baked potato supper (with a variety of toppings) at the Lidstone United Methodist Church in Washburn. The supper will be held Saturday, May 7, from 5-6:30 p.m. The cost of the supper will be on a donation basis.

The Good Ole Boys are going to entertain you after you’ve had your supper!

Please come and support the Washburn and Mapleton Youth Group as they continue to raise funds to attend the Youth Conference in Indiana this July.
