PRESQUE ISLE — Police are investigating the recent theft of several guns from a Lenfest Street home.
The Presque Isle Police Department was contacted by the owner’s daughter around 7:58 a.m. on Monday, May 23, advising a burglary had occurred at her father’s residence on Lenfest St.
Det. Bill Scull, PIPD, responded to the report and determined that the owner was in the process of moving out and had last been at the home on Friday, May 20. Since that time, entry was gained by the suspect(s) breaking a side window of the attached garage and then prying two doors open.
A chainsaw, several firearms and numerous boxes of ammunition were stolen, according to the owner’s daughter. Items reported stolen included shotguns and a pistol. The value of the property taken was estimated at approximately $5,000.
Assisting Scull was Sgt. Joey Seeley, PIPD.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the PIPD at 764-4476.
