Softball girls finish season

    The Houlton Little League all-star softball team traveled to Hermon last weekend.
    The Houlton all-stars lost their first game, 15-4, but the score isn’t indicative of how close the game was played.
    In their second contest, they fell to Lincoln, 9-8.

    In the second game against Lincoln, the Houlton all-stars were defeated in the bottom of the sixth when a Lincoln hitter delivered an inside-the-park homer.
    The Houlton girls started their scoring in the second and added four runs in the fourth. In the fifth, Houlton scored three more times to end the game.
    In the first game, the Houlton all-stars were ahead in the fifth inning, 6-4 before Bangor blew the game open in the sixth.
    Houlton’s four runs were scored by the way of two walks and two infield hits.
