PRESQUE ISLE – Dennis E. Dyer, 69, passed away Friday July 1, 2011, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born July 5, 1941, in Presque Isle, the son of Ellsworth and Lovina (Archer) Dyer. Dennis grew up in Presque Isle and attended local schools. He worked twenty-nine years for Buck Construction. He was known for his singing as well as for his sense of humor and sarcasm. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his great-grandson Jeramiah. The family would like to thank Buck Construction for all the help they have been in this last year.
Dennis is survived by his wife Charlotte (Hayden) Dyer of Presque Isle, two sons; Dennis Dyer Jr. and his wife Monica of Presque Isle, Jeff Dyer and his partner Alwynn Mattern of New London, CT, two daughters; Shelly Dyer and her partner Earl Morris of Presque Isle, Cheri Michaud and her husband Mike of Presque Isle, twelve grandchildren; Lacey, Jessica, Crystal, Curtis, Michelle, Brian, Blake, Justin, Travis, Whitney, Mike, Alec, and a great-grandson Jeramiah. He also leaves behind two brothers; Elwood Dyer of Presque Isle and Robert Dyer of Indiana, five sisters; Bridie Doak of Presque Isle, Christine Moore of Colorado, Marian Brayall of Rhode Island, Myrtle Pelullo of Mass., Sheila Bonville of Presque Isle, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by four brothers; Ellsworth “Buster” Dyer, Bernard Dyer, Donald Dyer, Alden Dyer and two sisters, Madeline Haley and Bernadette Dyer.
Funeral services were conducted 1 pm Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St. with the Rev. Darren Bonville officiating. Friends called from 12 noon until time of service. Interment took place following the service at Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to C-A-N-C-E-R (P.O.
