Local golfers fare well at Covered Bridge Golf Course
Medard Soucy and Ken Delano were the overall winners of the Upper St. John Valley Senior Golf Association’s July 13 tournament held at the Covered Bridge Golf Course.
Soucy of Fort Kent was the overall gross score winner with a 70, while VaJoWa’s Delano had the low net score of 65.
Division A gross winners were: Soucy; Dan Hotham, Presque Isle, 73 and Jerry York, Houlton, 74. Net, Gary Greene, Covered Bridge, 69; Roger Gagnon, Grand Falls, 69 and Earl Toner, Grand Falls, 73.
Division B gross winners were: Darrell McQuarrie, Covered Bridge, 80; Mike O’Regan, Grand Falls, 83 and Wilson Patterson, Covered Bridge, 84. Net, Ron Arbeau, Covered Bridge, 70; Everett Parker, Covered Bridge, 72 and Ron Kearney, Covered Bridge, 74.
Division C gross winners were: Gerald Dube, Grand Falls, 82; Norm Collins, Caribou, 84 and Mac Wilson, Covered Bridge, 87. Net, Blair Keirstead, Woodstock, 67; Dale Plourde, Caribou, 73 and Roy T. Layte, Covered Bridge, 73.
Division D gross winners were: Mike Vaillancourt, Grand Falls, 88; Lou Lorenzo, Caribou, 88 and Dave Scullion, Portage, 89. Net, Brian Williams, Covered Bridge, 71; Mike Bernard, Presque Isle, 72 and Robert Burns, Limestone, 72.
Division E gross winners were: Delano, VaJoWa, 87; Ken Jones, Covered Bridge, 92 and Marc Drost, Covered Bridge, 92. Net, Al Skolfield, VaJoWa, 71; Paul Turner, Mars Hill, 73 and Mike Fitzgerald, Caribou, 75.
Division F gross winners were: Rex Clark, Woodstock, 96; Joe McGuire, Woodstock, 96 and Bob Ellinwood, Limestone, 97. Net, Keith Clark, Long Lake, 68; Ed Avery, Presque Isle, 71 and Steven Walker, VaJoWa, 75.
