ORANGE CITY, FL & MAPLETON – Lillian I. Hughes, 86, passed away on August 16, 2011, at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. She was born on September 15, 1924, in Mapleton, and in 2001, she moved to Orange City from her birthplace.

Lillian was a member of the Mapleton United Methodist Church and she loved gardening, sewing and cooking.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Carl R. Hughes; sons: Bryant Hughes and wife, Susan of Deltona, FL, Alfred Hughes and wife, Ruth of Lisbon, ME, and Barry Hughes and wife, Kathy of New Smyrna, FL; daughter, Carla Martin and husband, Marty of Debary, FL; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
