MAPLETON – Robert “Pete” Levasseur, 53. Pete’s spirit was set free September 15, 2011, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Presque Isle, April 26, 1958, the son of Robert and Dolores (Labbe) Levasseur.
He graduated from Presque Isle High School and went right to work for the W.C. Doyen Farm in Mapleton, where you could often see him operating one of his favorite John Deere tractors. Pete loved spending time with his family, being it at the cabin, four wheeling, fishing or just enjoying the outdoors together. Pete had an amazing ability to make people laugh, no matter what the circumstances were. He also loved target shooting with his bow and watching the Red Sox.
Besides his mother, Dolores of Presque Isle, Pete is survived by his wife, Chee-Chee (York) Levasseur of Mapleton; a daughter, Jessica Levasseur Dahms and her husband, Russell of Westbrook; step-son, Jeremiah Sawyer, and step-daughter, Lacey Sawyer, both of Presque Isle; brothers: Donald Levasseur and his wife, Sharon of Sebastian, FL, and Dennis Levasseur and his wife, Ruth of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister, Frances Madore and her husband, Vaughn of Presque Isle; grandchildren: Chase and Julia Levasseur; and step-grandchildren: Tanner Smith and Parker Sawyer; and several nieces and nephews.
