FORT FAIRFIELD — A 23-year-old Fort Fairfield man, who worked for the school district, has been arrested and charged with possession of Internet child pornography.
The State Police Computer Crimes Unit, working off a tip, searched Jake Rogeski’s residence on Thursday and discovered sexually explicit images and video clips of children believed to be about 5- to-7-years-old.
Sgt. Glenn Lang said that Rogeski was taken to the Fort Fairfield Police department after his arrest and was able to post bail.
Marc Gendron, superintendent of SAD 20, said Rogeski assisted with the 21st Century After School Progam, which provides after-school activities and mentorship for students up to grade eight.
“We called all 50 families involved in the 21st Century After School Program on Thursday afternoon to apprise them of the situation,” said Gendron. Additionally a letter was sent Friday to the parents or guardians of all the students in grades K-8.
“We have no information or indication that any of the of inappropriate images had anything to do with our students,” he added. Sgt. Lang also said he doesn’t believe any of the victims are from the community.
Gendron said Rogeski, who worked for the district for about three years, has resigned his position and is not allowed on school property. His bail conditions require he has no contact with children under 18 years old. He also can’t possess any technology that could access the Internet.
Rogeski will be arraigned in Aroostook County Superior Court on Dec. 15.
