Senior golfers finish season

    The St. John Valley Senior Golf Association held its final tournament of the summer, with 142 golfers at Edmundston Golf Club, along with the annual presentation of awards.
    Edmundston’s Dave MacFarlane and Bob MacFarlane were the overall gross and net winners, respectively, with a 71 and 68 score.
    Division A gross winners were: D. MacFarlane; Gary Greene, Covered Bridge, 79 and Steve Edwards, VaJoWa, 82. Net, B. MacFarlane; Mike Fleming, Houlton and Morgan St. Onge, Grand Falls, both with 73s.
    Division B gross winners were: Mike Pelletier, Edmundston, 80; Harry Orser, Mars Hill, 83 and Jerry Bear, Aroostook Valley Country Club, 84. Net, Jacques Bosse, Grand Falls, 71; Doug Hallett, Aroostook Valley Country Club, 72 and Harry MacPhail, Grand Falls, 74.
    Division C gross winners were: Norman Michaud, Edmundston, 83; Roland Nadeau, Edmundston, 86 and Josephel Pelletier, Presque Isle, 89. Net, Willard Cyr, Edmundston, 72; Gilles Basque, Edmundston, 73 and Dave Scullion, Portage Hills, 75.
    Division D gross winners were: Ken Jones, Covered Bridge, 87; John Manter, Aroostok Valley Country Club, 90 and George Watson, Presque Isle, 91. Net, Mike Bernard, Presque Isle, 71; Conrad Walton, Caribou and Dean Larrabee, Mars Hill, both 74s.
    Division E gross winners were: Fred Boyd, Mars Hill, 90; Michael Fitzgerald, Caribou, 96 and Tom Kent, Fort Kent, 98. Net, Elwood Doody, Limestone, 73; Pat Kelley, Portage Hills, 76 and Bob Ellinwood, Limestone, 77.
    Division F gross winners were: George Morneault, Long Lake and Marty Shaw, Mars Hill, both 99s and Richard Raymond, Fort Kent, 107. Net, George Walsh, Grand Falls, 71; Jim Costeir, Edmundston, 74 and Greg Freeman, Portage Hills, 76.
    President Trophy winner was Gary Greene, Covered Bridge and runner-up, Dan Hotham, Presque Isle.
    Governor’s Trophy winner was Ken Delano, VaJoWa and runner-up, Ron Arbeau, Covered Bridge and Bud Survant Trophy winner was Jerry York, Houlton and runner-up, Philip Pelletier, Fort Kent.
