Houlton Power Sports is back in the news again. This time, not for a new product line, but for making a move … down the road.
Houlton Power Sports has moved into its new location at 381 North Road, the former North Country Auto.
“We needed more space,” said Ben Adams, general manager of Houlton Power Sports. “We have slowly outgrown our space over the past few years.”
Houlton Power Sports was formerly located just north of their new location across from DBJ McGuire.
“We added the Yamaha product lines and we were busting at the seams,” Adams added. “It was much more economical to move to this new location than try to build what we needed [on the former lot].”
Located in their former home on North Road for 10 years, Adams and his team are excited about the new move.
“This location is much better than the old,” he said, “There is more traffic and we have a much better display area for all of our product.”
Houlton Power Sports’ new home will afford the opportunity to carry more products and have a better representation of all of their lines.
“We have much, much, much more space,” Adams explained. “Our showroom is three times as big as the old showroom. We have a complete separate parts and service department with more room than we could have imagined.”
Houlton Power Sports will be adding to their parts and clothing departments over time.
“We will be expanding our aftermarket parts and accessories,” Adams explained. “We will now have the ability to stock more parts and accessories to better serve our customers. We are also expanding our winter clothing line with new products and more selection. We will be carrying winter coats, ski pants, boots, socks and other [cold weather gear]. We will supply clothing needs for the outdoors in the winter, whether you are a snowmobiler or not.”
Adams is pleased with Houlton Power Sports’ growth during the current economic conditions.
“This has been a major move for us,” explained Adams. “We made the move as an investment to better serve our customers.
Adams noted that the old Houlton Power Sports location was getting crowded and the new site is a more pleasant work environment.
“There is no question we needed the room ourselves,” he added. “But, what it comes down to is our customers. We want to have more of the items our customers need in stock when they need it. “
Houlton Power Sports’ goal is to be the number-one source for all power sports and RV needs. The new spot will allow for more displays inside.
“No matter what the weather, you can always come and look around,” Adams noted.
Houlton Power Sports has added more staff to the parts department and the supplement of a warehouse is important to customer satisfaction, as well.
“Our shop is twice as big as our old shop,” explained Adams, “We have a large warehouse with inside storage for our customers.”
When a customer drops off a snowmobile, ATV or motorcycle to be serviced, the machine will be safely stored inside and out of the weather.
“Nothing will be left outside,” Adams said.
The new building will aid Houlton Power Sports in improving their service.
“Our new facility will allow us to do what we know and what we love even better than before,” said Adams. “Everyone who works here is a power sport enthusiast and truly cares about our customers.”
Houlton Power Sports will be holding its grand opening on Saturday. Oct. 15. The staff will be hosting a barbecue, ATV demonstration rides, while the Meduxnekeag Ramblers will have their snow groomer on display, as well.
“We will have great deals on everything,” Adams said. “Plus, we are having a first-time yard sale on older accessories, clothing, used parts, helmets and more. All at great prices.”
