The annual Show ‘n Shine hailed successfully despite the threat of Hurricane Katrina on Aug. 27-28 at the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum in Littleton.
Best of Show was awarded to Joe Grant, while People’s Choice went to Dan Dyer; Kid’s Choice, Steve Rogers, 1968 Chevy; Best Interior, Raymond Michaud, 1969 Olds Cutlass and Best Paint, Ralph Cole, 1944 Ford. Winning the teeter-totter event were Ron and Charlene Schriver with their 1947 International.
The North Country Cruisers show drew cars from all over the state and Canada. Both nights a bonfire was held for drivers to relax.
“We had around 70 cars on the weekend,” said Tim McAtee of the North Country Cruisers. “I was happy with the turnout. On Sunday there were 45 to 50 cars still on display despite the rain. None of it could have been possible without the support of our sponsors.”
McAtee estimated that 40 cars went on the Saturday cruise and gathered at Houlton Farms Dairy dairy bar on Military Street.
