CMS boys win cross country title

LIMESTONE — The Caribou boys and Presque Isle girls have claimed the Aroostook Middle School Cross Country Championships.

On a cold and windy afternoon at the Limestone Community School on Oct. 5 the Viking boys topped Presque Isle and Union 122. Greater Houlton Christian Academy and Fort Kent also participated but did not field full teams.

The Presque Isle Middle School girls had the first two finishers to beat out Caribou, Union 122 and Greater Houlton Christian Academy. Fort Kent did not field a full team.

Runners competed on a 1.77-mile course.

The top 10 for the boys are: 1. Dillon Beckum, U122, 10.07; 2. Kamran Husain, FK, 10:53; 3. Jacob O’Berry, PIMS, 11:08; 4. Evan Desmond, CMS, 11:16; 5. Chathhu Karunasiri, CMS, 11:40; 6. Jason Bartley, PIMS, 11:41; 7. Caleb Hunter, CMS, 12:16; 8. Caleb Willett, CMS, 12:23; 9. Hunter Flynn, PIMS, 12:31; and 10. David Hunter, CMS, 12:32.

The top 10 for the girls are: 1. Mandy Graham, PIMS, 12:37; 2. Emily Colligan, PIMS, 12:43; 3. Emma Belyea, CMS, 12:44; 4. Anna Soderberg, CMS, 13:20; 5. Ellie Goheen, PIMS, 13:23; 6. Matteah Michaud, PIMS, 13:33; 7. Simone Michaud, U122, 13:38; 8. Kristyn Maley, U122, 13:44; 9. Emma Willett, PIMS, 13:51; and 10. Jessica Boucher, PIMS, 14:01.
