Going on a picnic is always great fun but when you share the special outing with your very, very, most favorite Teddy bear (or other stuffed friend) well— things can’t get much better.
On Oct. 15 young members of the Toddler Time (ages 18 to 36 months) program at the Caribou Public Library attended a special Teddy Bear’s Picnic, as Jean Shaw, children’s librarian, read the wonderful story “The Teddy Bear’s Picnic,” by Jimmy Kennedy; illustrated by Alexandra Day.
After listening to the popular story, the young picnic participants danced with their Teddy bears to the catchy song, which goes with the story and then of course settled down on a comfortable quilt to have their own picnic of graham crackers and juice, which they politely shared with their Moms and other special guests.
Attending the Teddy Bear’s Picnic were Gretchen Towle and mom Hillary; Nathaniel Taggart and mom Whitney; Kristen Merchant and mom Kylee Morrell; Sage Gervais and mom Joanna; Jade Cray and grandmother Laura Pelkey; Avenea Germain and mom Cassie; Abram Labrie and mom Amy; Matthew Bouchard and mom Kara; Hudson St. Pierre and mom Nicki; and Morgan Woodrum and her grandmother Kathy Robinson.
