The Clara Barton Society is a framework for personal/individual generous gifts bestowed to the American Red Cross. The mission of the Clara Barton Society, named for the founder of the American Red Cross, is to acknowledge and honor those individuals and families whose leadership and generosity, in service of humanity, carry out the life-saving mission of the American Red Cross.
Recently Dr. and Mrs. A. Sidney Whiting of New Sweden were recognized for their generous support to the Aroostook County branch of the American Red Cross, Pine Tree Chapter. Dr. Whiting is an ophthalmologist at Pines Health Services in Caribou. According to Joyce Knorr, Aroostook County branch manager of the American Red Cross, Pine Tree Chapter, “We celebrate the success of our collective efforts and rejoice in honoring the amazing generosity of Dr. and Mrs. Whiting today.”
“The Aroostook Branch office is hoping to launch the first local Clara Barton Society next year to bring together a special group of some of the top leaders in our community to help ensure our chapter has the resources to respond to critical needs in The County. The Clara Barton Society Leadership Giving Program provides a sound foundation for a major gift program. It is deeply rooted in the principles of stewardship and recognition, which will sustain our local services each year,” stated Knorr.
