Diane DuBois, library director, has announced that the Caribou Public Library is now offering access to the very popular Ancestry.com website to area residents.
The Ancestry Library Edition includes more than 7,000 databases including access to censuses, vital records, immigration, family histories, military records, legal documents, directories, photos and maps. Access to Ancestry Library is through the library’s computers and Maine’s virtual library known as MARVEL.
“We are delighted to offer this service as a significant number of residents are very interested in family genealogy and other historical research and it is free of charge to them,” stated DuBois.
Ancestry Library is being made possible through the Maine State Library.
