PRESQUE ISLE — Police are reminding dog owners that it’s once again time to renew pets’ licenses.

“The Presque Isle Police Department is reminding dog owners that all canines 6 months or older are required to be licensed by the owner or keeper by Jan. 1, 2012, in accordance with state law,” said Cpl. Wayne Selfridge, PIPD.

“Dogs capable of producing young will be licensed for $11; for those surgically infertile a $6 fee is assessed. A veterinary certificate proving a pet has been spayed or neutered must be presented,” he said.

After Jan. 31, a $25 late fee, in addition to the license fee, will be assessed against a dog owner or keeper.
