MCPHERSON, Ronald E., 61, PRESQUE ISLE, January 15, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Thursday, at St Mary’s Catholic Church. A Masonic committal service will be conducted later in the spring at Fairmount Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Homes, Presque Isle.

    PRESQUE ISLE – Ronald E. McPherson, 61, died on January 15, 2012, at a local health care facility due to a brain tumor. Ron was born March 1, 1950, in Presque Isle, the son of Robert and Vera McPherson.

    He graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1969 and attended Husson College in Bangor. With his parents, Ron started Country Club Farms, Inc., on the Parkhurst Siding Road in Presque Isle. He later worked as a foreman for Lane Construction for thirteen years, chemical sales for Maine Potato Growers for five years and the Defense Finance Accounting Service for six years.

    Ron was a communicant at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle and a member of Trinity Lodge #130 A.F. & A.M. and Anah Temple Shrine.

    Ron always placed great value in public service to his community. The citizens of Presque Isle elected him to the City Council for three terms where he was chair for two consecutive years. During his service as city councilor, the Public Safety building was built. He also served on the Zoning Board of Appeals and was a Trustee of the Presque Isle Development Fund and the Presque Isle Forum. Ron was an original member of the Star City ATV Club.

    He is survived by his wife, Christine (Nicknair) McPherson of Presque Isle; daughters, Marisa Christine Roy and her husband, Rick of Sanford, Anna Rae Moskey and her husband, Kevin of West Newfield and Caitlin Marie Catherine McPherson and her fiancé, Christopher McLellan of Glenburn; grandchildren, Raeanna Joy McPherson, Elijah James McPherson, Karleigh Phyllis Roy and Naomi Mable Ann Roy; sisters, Daphine Michaud and her husband, Steve of Presque Isle and Donna Loutsios and her husband, Greg of Chatsworth, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a nephew, Jack Loutsios; and the mother of Marisa and Anna, Karla Daggett.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Thursday, at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, with the Very Reverend Jean-Paul LaBrie celebrant. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A Masonic committal service will be conducted later in the spring at Fairmount Cemetery.
