Mapleton home burglarized

MAPLETON — The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding the person(s) responsible for a recent burglary at a Mapleton residence.
“The ACSO is investigating a burglary that happened between Jan. 11 and Jan. 13 in Mapleton. This happened at the home of Kevin Wilson, on the State Road,” said Sgt. Forrest Dudley, ACSO.
Dudley said the crime occurred while the owner was away from his residence for a couple of days.
“While Wilson was gone, an unknown person(s) entered his residence by forcing entry through the locked front door. While inside, several items were taken, most of which included jewelry and tools,” said Dudley.
The total value of items taken is estimated to be over $6,000.
Deputy Mitchell Wheeler is the primary investigator. He was assisted by Deputy Ross McQuade.
“Deputies gathered several pieces of evidence at the scene and are processing it. The investigation is continuing,” Dudley said.
