HEMINGWAY, Albert L., 60, CHAPMAN, January 30, 2012. A graveside service will be held this spring at the Southside Cemetery, Mapleton. Arrangements in care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Homes, Presque Isle.
CHAPMAN – Albert L. Hemingway, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 30, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Portland on May 13, 1951, the son of Albert D. Hemingway and Priscilla G. Farwell. He worked as a custodian at the Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle. He loved to watch and collect movies.
He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Sylvia and Alton Dean of Fort Fairfield, and Crystal and Bradley Laster of Chapman; a grandson, Bradley Laster Jr.; two sisters, Patricia LaFavore and her husband, Richard of Portland, and Beatrice Hemingway of Buxton; his father-in-law, Lloyd Wardwell Sr. of Chapman; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his companion, a black Persian cat named Friday.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia J. (Wardwell) Hemingway in 2004; his parents and his mother-in-law, Thelma J. Wardwell in 2010.
Friends called 2-4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle. A graveside service will be held this spring at the Southside Cemetery, Mapleton, with Pastor Nathan Gardner officiating.
