HOULTON — The public is invited to attend a presentation by Special Agent Jonathan L. Richards of the Maine Drug Enforcement Administration concerning the dangerous and illegal drug — bath salts on Friday, Feb. 10 from 4-6:45 p.m. at the University College in Houlton.
The interactive television presentation will be available as part of the UMA class “The Chemically Dependent.”
Bath salts are a synthetic substance that act like powerful stimulant drugs and produce severe side effects such as anxiety, agitation, fits and delusions. More serious side effects include seizures, aggression and severe paranoia. The drug has been linked to at least three deaths in the Bangor area.
