    MAPLETON – Deborah S. Wood Violette, 60, passed away Thursday evening, March 22, 2012, at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. She was born on May 10, 1951, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Calvin C. and Barbara (Hilton) Wood.

    Debbie was a graduate of Presque Isle High School, the class of 1969 and University of Maine at Orono, class of 1973. She taught special needs children in New Hampshire for a number of years.

    She is survived by a brother, Darryl Wood and his wife, Donna of Presque Isle; two sisters, Gail Wood and her partner, James Myers of McHenry, IL, and Rebecca “Becky” Clark and her husband, Mike of Scarborough; an aunt and uncle, Marion and Jerry Manter of Presque Isle; two nieces, Tammy Winger and her husband, Brad and their children, Jaren and Karsen of Presque Isle, Laurie Fisher and her husband, Jeffrey and their children Michael, Kayla, and Ashley of Castle Hill; a nephew, Landon Clark and his wife, Anuja and their daughter, Shaila of San Francisco, CA; also a niece and nephew, Becky Osburn and Dan Dallman; and a very close friend, Lisa Simpson of Castle Hill.

    She was predeceased by her parents.

    The family wishes to thank the Mars Hill Nursing Home staff, especially Darlene, Gail and Velvet, and Rev. Ken Phelps for being there for Debbie. Also, special thanks to the members of the class of 1969 for their concerns and prayers.
