Within the past eight months of Red Cross’ fiscal year, the Aroostook County Branch has assisted nearly 30 families — including those affected by recent fires in Fort Kent and Easton — with immediate emergency services costing thousands of dollars. As funds are being depleted, it is important to make donations to the local Red Cross chapter which will enable the organization to continue to provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to victims of disasters in Aroostook County. Here, Claudia Stevens, left, executive director of the United Way of Aroostook donates $500 to Joyce Knorr, Aroostook County branch manager of the American Red Cross—Pine Tree Chapter, to help with the Fort Kent fires.
