Final preparations are being made for the fifth annual Aroostook River Fun Run canoe/kayak race and bicycle trail ride from Washburn to the PI Fish and Game Club. Participants have a choice of paddling on the river or riding on the railroad bed trail in the family-oriented event, sponsored by the Presque Isle and Washburn Rotary Clubs. This year’s Fun Run takes place on Saturday, May 19 with registration at 8 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. start. Going over the details at a recent committee meeting in the Northeastland Hotel are organizers, from left, Michael Gudreau, Mark Putnam, Gretchen Morse and Keith Brown.
