PIHS Hall of Fame
The Presque Isle High School Athletic Hall of Fame induction will be held Saturday, May 12. At noon the inductees will be introduced prior to the beginning of the baseball/softball double header which will be played at the high school fields. The introductions will be at the softball field.
The induction ceremony will be held at the Shriners Building on the Houlton Road with a social half hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by a buffet style meal at 6 p.m.
At the conclusion of the meal each inductee or their representative will be introduced for induction.
The Class of 2012 inductees are Eugene Hunter, Steve Condon, Darci Collins McCrum,
Stacy Hafford Barnes, Melissa Blackstone Gogain, Jim Dyer, Jim Lyford and Jim Carter.
Tickets are $25 for the event and can be purchased at the PIHS Athletic Office, Star City IGA, Graves Shop N’ Save or contact Jim Carter at 764-1217.
Hole-In-One
The first ace at Presque Isle Country Club came early this season. Frank Keenan of Presque Isle carded at one on the 152-yard hole No. 8 using an eight iron. This is the first hole-in-one for Keenan in about 45 years of playing golf.
The ace was witnessed by Phil Pelletier.
Mother/Son Dance
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will be hosting the annual Mother/Son Dance this week.
This event is Friday, May 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the Presque Isle Recreation Center. Music will be provided by “Hits on the Run” and Kenzie Pinette will be the photographer on site. This event is for boys in grades K-6. Come dance the night away.
Co-ed Softball Registration
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department is now taking registrations for co-ed softball.
You may pick up the form at the William V. Haskell Community Center, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. All registrants must complete the form and return it to the Center no later than May 11.
