Wildcats 7-0 on the baseball season

    The Presque Isle Wildcats continue to play winning baseball, upping their record to 7-0 over the past week.

    Here’s a recap of the games played through Monday:

    Presque Isle 6, Houlton 3 — The Presque Isle Wildcats were back in action Monday night taking on the Shiretowners in Houlton.

    Ryley Norton doubled and singled and drove in a run as Presque Isle rallied from a 3-0 deficit to run its record to 7-0.

    Jake Player had a pair of singles and Isaac LaJoie singled and drove in a pair of runs for the Wildcats, who broke a 3-3 tie with a pair of sixth-inning runs.

    Five of their six runs were unearned.

    Saul Nunez went the distance for the win, hurling a four-hitter with nine strikeouts.

    Hunter Hanning had a two-run double for 2-3 Houlton.

    Hodgdon 13, Fort Fairfield 6 — At Hodgdon Monday, Chris Hudson had two doubles and drove in four runs to help the Hawks improve to 5-2.

    Erik Ryan added three singles and three RBIs for the winners while Nick Lunn had two singles and two RBIs.

    Austin Bernier singled twice and drove in two runs for the 2-3 Tigers and Landon Towle added a single and RBI.

    Wisdom 11, Ashland 4 — At Ashland Monday, Wisdom scored 11 unanswered runs to erase a 4-0 deficit to record the victory.

    Brandon Lavoie led the Pioneers going with a single and a two-run homer in the sixth to break open a close ballgame.

    Royce MacDonald led the Hornets with three hits and a home run. Jeremy Caron and Cody Blair were repeat hitters for Ashland and Mark Chasse led off the game by hitting the first pitch of the game for a solo home run.

    Ashland falls to 0-4 and Wisdom moves to 3-2.

    Fort Kent 9, Limestone 4 — At Limestone Friday, Brandon Hartt’s two-run single in the sixth inning broke the game open as the Warriors topped the Eagles.

    For Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics, Tristin Kirk went 4-for-4, scoring three runs, Chris Bernier had a single, double and two RBIs. Austin Dow-Smith went 2-for-2 with an RBI.

    Fort Fairfield 13, Washburn 5 — At Washburn Friday, Towle smacked a triple and a single and collected four RBIs to lead the Tigers past the Beavers.

    Bernier earned the win for Fort Fairfield.

    Jordan McLaughlin tripled, singled and had an RBI for Washburn. Nick Bragg had two singles.

    Fort Fairfield 10, Wisdom 8 — At Fort Fairfield Thursday, Towle pitched a complete game, striking out seven, to help the Tigers to the win.

    The Tigers (1-2) scored two runs in the first inning, one in the third and seven in the sixth.

    Wisdom (2-2) scored two runs in the second inning three in the third, one in the sixth and two in the seventh.

    LCS/MSSM 9, Van Buren 4 — At Limestone Thursday, Zach Cote and Tyler Morgan combined on a five-hitter as the Eagles downed the Crusaders by five runs.

    Nate Tucker hit three singles with an RBI to lead the offense for Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics. Chris Bernier posted two singles and an RBI and Brett Butler added an RBI double.

    Washburn 15, GHCA 0 — At Washburn Thursday, Bragg hurled a five-inning no-hitter, striking out eight in the process, as the Beavers shut out the Eagles.

    McLaughlin added a single and a double and had two RBIs for Washburn, and Michael Ericson had a double and an RBI.

    Madawaska 14, Ashland 3 — At Madawaska Thursday, senior center fielder Kirk Michaud led the Owls attack with two triples and three singles, the last of which drove in the final run in the sixth inning, for the win over Ashland.

    Sam Beaulieu struck out seven in three innings for the 3-1 Owls and aided his own cause with a double and two singles.

    MacDonald had an RBI single in the third for the 0-4 Hornets.

    Presque Isle 15, Fort Kent 0 — At Presque Isle Wednesday, Nunez and Norton combined for a no-hit shutout in five innings for the Wildcats.

    Offensively for the Wildcats, Wilder York and Lajoie each had two singles, Tyler Seeley a triple and two RBIs, Karson Wilcox a single and RBI, and Evan Waddell a double and RBI. Norton chipped in with two singles and three RBIs while Player had a double and two RBIs. Nunez singled in a run in the third.

    The Wildcats improve to 6-0 while the Warriors drop to 0-3.  

    CAHS 3, LCS/MSSM 1 — At Mars Hill May 1, Dan Brewer singled, stole second and scored on Mike McClung’s RBI single to start a three-run third inning that carried the Panthers past the Eagles.

    Darrin Murray also doubled for Central Aroostook, and Brendan York allowed three hits, struck out 12 and walked two for the win.

    Brandon Thompson, Cote and Dylan Nadeau singled for Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics, which had taken a 1-0 lead in the first inning.

    The Eagles’ Bernier allowed three hits, struck out seven and walked three.

    Houlton 12, Caribou 7 — The Caribou Vikings tried to mount a comeback at home on May 1, but the Houlton Shiretowners found a way to score late to secure the win.

    Jimmy Fitzpatrick hit a two-run homer, a triple and a single to power Houlton.

    Dean Walker led Caribou, which had rallied to tie the game 7-7 after five innings, with a single and a double. Chad Caverhill suffered the loss.

    Madawaska 8, Fort Fairfield 3 — At Madawaska May 1, pitchers Kirk Michaud, Sam Beaulieu, and Brad Pelletier combined to limit the Tigers to three hits and one earned run over seven innings to lead the Owls to victory.

    Devan Pelletier had a double and single while Jesse Pelletier had two singles and two RBIs for the 2-1 Owls.

    Ryan Pelkey, Billy Weissman, and Tyler Churchill each had a single for 0-2 Fort Fairfield.

    SAHS 20, Ashland 0 — At Ashland May 1, Trent Cullinan and Mason Caron combined to throw a no-hitter to lead the Southern Aroostook Warriors to victory over the Hornets.

    Will McGary led Southern Aroostook (3-1) with a grand slam in the third and a single and totaled seven RBIs.

    Ashland fell to 0-3.
